The One With Rachel's Dream

Episode 9.19

[Previous][Next][Back to the Master List]

Joey needs inspiration for his love scenes on Days of our Lives, and uses his past love for Rachel as a source of motivation. It touches Rachel and gives her something to think about. Chandler plans a romantic weekend away, but Monica has to work. He can't get a refund on the room, so he and Ross go there to spend the weekend, and try to take enough hotel amenities to make the money back. Phoebe, hearing that Monica has guests standing in line outside her restaurant, decides to play her music there. This stresses their relationship a bit more than either can bear. Ross gets sugar highs from maple candy.

The one where they said....

Joey: Hey, do you want to come down to the set and tell me if I'm doing okay?
Rachel: Are you serious?
Joey: Yeah, yeah. You just have to promise not to get yourself thrown out again.
Rachel: Hey, that was an honest mistake!
Joey: Right. "Oh my God, is this the men's room? I feel so foolish. Have you always known you wanted to be an actor?"
Rachel: Yeah, that was an awesome day.

Rachel: Joey, is this the bed where Olivia lost her virginity?
Joey: I don't know, but one of the extras sure did.

Phoebe (singing): And there's a country called Argentina,
It's a place I've never seen.
But I'm told for 50 pesos,
You can buy a human spleen,
Human spleen.

Phoebe (singing): It wasn't just that she was fat,
the woman smelled like garbage.
Everyone!
It wasn't just that she was fat,
the woman smelled like garbage.

Chandler: I also got these great salt and pepper shakers from the restaurant.
Ross: Dude, that's not cool.
Chandler: Dude, none of this is cool.
Ross: No, Chandler, you have to find the line between stealing and taking what the hotel owes you. Um, for example, hair dryer, no, no, no. Shampoos and conditioners, ah, yes, yes, yes. Now, the salt shaker is off limits, but the salt.... [pouring it into his hand] ...I wish I'd thought this through.

Phoebe (singing, to the tune of Shave and a Haircut): The food here at Javu
will kill you!
The food here at Javu
will kill you!

Rachel: Well, can't you just use that, that "method actor" thing, where you use your real-life memories to help you in your performance?
Joey: What the hell are you talking about?
